FERTILIZING YOUR TREES AND SHRUBS TO HELP KEEP THEM HEALTHY….. One of the most important considerations for plant health is a well-nourished, aerated root system. Drought, soil compaction, and
nutrient-deficient soil contribute to the decline and death of many trees and shrubs. A vigorously growing plant is much better equipped to withstand disease, insect infestation, and overcome stressful
conditions that a weaker plant would succumb to. In a tree's native habitat, there is an abundance of organic matter to draw from, primarily decomposing leaf litter. In a
landscape setting, that vital source of nourishment is removed, and often replaced with competing organisms, such as grass, groundcovers, and shrubs. The products we use are specially
formulated to mimic what occurs in the natural habitat of a tree (or shrub). By combining the ingredients plants lack most in an urban setting and applying them under pressure, we achieve a three-fold
purpose:
- Deep root watering
- Soil aeration
- Fertilization
Through the years, there have been many research studies conducted by universities, arborist groups, and government sponsored agencies. All of them agree on one point in particular:
Fertilization, applied correctly and for the right reasons, can greatly increase a plant's lifespan in most situations. |
