PLANT HEALTH CARE (PHC) MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION:
Local tree service looking for PHC manager.
Great pay, work environment, and unlimited growth potential.
Direct industry experience a must. Call (908) 730-9100.
At Spanner Tree and Shrub Care, Inc. we consider plant
health care to be an extremely important aspect of
tree care. Plant
Health Care is not only very profitable for our company,
but there are many plant problems that cannot be controlled
by
pruning alone. Plant Health Care (PCH) is defined as
all techniques used to control all plant problems and
maintain
plant vigor.
This includes, but is not limited to, spraying, fertilizing,
mulching,
pruning and removals, etc. It is our goal to provide
our customers with the healthiest and safest plants
we can.
At the same
time we strive to use the safest methods possible for
both the applicator and the customer.
For management purposes we have a separate pruning
and removal (General Tree Work) division. Our PHC division
is responsible
for all spraying and fertilizing. Our spraying is broken
down into specific target sprays, cover sprays, and
plant
health
care programs. Our fertilizing consists of all methods
of applying nutrients and soil amendments to the root
zone of
plants.
It is the responsibility of the PHC manager to:
A. Understand each of these spray and fertilization
methods and be able to successfully complete each one
on a daily
basis.
B. To oversee program timing using plant phenology,
growing degree-days,
and personal observations.
C. To arrange, schedule and assign work on a daily
basis to successfully complete each and every job sold.
D. To oversee and complete the necessary paperwork
on a daily basis.
E. To stay abreast of new materials and techniques
and determine their feasibility withinour program.
F. To monitor inventory and purchase materials as needed.
G. To maintain all equipment and vehicles which are
used in our spray program.
H. To help in the training of new and existing employees
in the safest, most productive way of performing their
jobs.
These are the general responsibilities of the PHC manager.
In addition it is also the responsibility of the PHC
manager to maintain our highly professional public
image, and to
provide
our production employees with a safe, harmonious work environment.
